Welcome to Richard Coates Church of England Primary School's website. We are proud of being a Church school at the heart of the local community where everyone is valued and respected as a unique individual. Our school motto, “Let Your Light Shine” is taken from the gospel of St Matthew and encapsulates the aim of our school; to ensure each child achieves their full potential academically, socially and personally, making the most of the gifts and talents they have been given..
We are rightfully proud of our long and established reputation of providing academic excellence for all pupils. The school first came into being nearly 300 years ago, making it one of the oldest established schools in Northumberland. It's mission, "to enable all individuals to achieve their full potential within a happy and caring Christian community", continues to ensure we are a school where every individual achieves the highest possible outcomes.
Our curriculum is designed to engage pupils and inspire them to become creative and independent thinkers with a love of learning. We have an extensive programme of extra-curricular activities and field trips, covering a wide range of subjects, talents and hobbies. We actively encourage pupils to get involved and contribute to the life of the school.
Success and celebration is very much at the heart of what we do and we look forward to sharing this with visitors. If you would like to know more, or would like come and visit the school please, do not hesitate to contact us to make an appointment.
