The internet is constantly evolving into ever more innovative areas with many websites enabling amazing creativity and interaction between peers.

Unfortunately though, there are times when internet use can have a negative effect on children. This area of the Richard Coates website is dedicated to helping our pupils and parents better understand the issues around e-safety and manage the risks more effectively. We would like to take this opportunity to remind parents that the majority of social media apps like Facebook, Tik Tok and Instagram do have an age limit and non are seen as appropriate for our Primary aged children.

Some good websites, providing further information about these issues, can be found by click on these links;

Some useful documents can be downloaded (see below).

Concerns have been raised about the location facility used apps such as Snapchat.  Snapchat has a feature called the Snap Map which allows you to see your contacts on a map based on their location. Through the Snap Map, users can broadcast their exact location with everyone in their contact list. Please click here for further information on how to disable this facility.

The school’s E Safety and Acceptable Use Policy can be found under ‘Key Information – Policies’.
