Our School Vision

Welcome to Richard Coates Church of England School for primary and middle school aged children (Nursery to Year 8).

Richard Coates CE School, established in 1719, is situated in the town of Ponteland, 8 miles away from the city of Newcastle-upon-Tyne.  We provide first class education for children living within the local area, as well as from Newcastle and the smaller surrounding villages.

Our aim is to help your child be the very best that they can be. We strive for excellence in all we do so that your children can ‘SHINE BRIGHT’. Our motto, "Let your Light Shine" is taken from St Matthew's Gospel and encourages everyone at Richard Coates to discover and use the gifts and talents that they have been given as unique individuals. We seek to enable all to flourish and achieve their full potential within a caring and happy school where the Christian values of care, kindness and respect are at the heart of all we do.
